Before it became a spoon, it was a coconut - grown under the sun, harvested, and given a second life by the hands of Porunai Eco Crafters.
This teaspoon is carved from a coconut shell, shaped and smoothed entirely by hand. No synthetic resins, no lacquers, no plastic, only coconut oil - and just the shell as it is, with its natural warmth and variation intact. The slight differences in colour, thickness, and grain from one spoon to the next are not imperfections; they are what handcraft looks like.
Use it to stir your morning tea, measure a pinch of spice, or scoop honey from the jar. The hard inner surface of the coconut shell is naturally water-resistant and easy to rinse clean. Over time, occasional rubs with coconut oil keep the surface nourished and extend its life.
Sourced and made close to the Porunai river in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli region, this spoon connects your kitchen to a craft tradition that has long found use in the everyday and the purposeful. When you eventually retire it, it returns to the earth without a trace.
